Today we celebrated Sunny's birthday for the third time. This girl is lucky. We've been partying nonstop since Wednesday morning.
Wednesday Sunny went to school skipping. They gave her a crown and sang to her. Then during recess and lunch she told all her best school buddies that she was having a birthday party at 10 pm sharp. She told the three boys invited that they would definitely have fun because she had some boy toys. When my Dad picked her up he became convinced that we would have families showing up for Sunny's party. There was just suppose to be a cake and a load of presents here with Grandma, Pop Pop, Boppa and me. So, she stretched the truth a little.
"Mama, isn't it great how I get to stay up past my bedtime with my friends tonight?"
"Sunny, you know that it's just a family party right? You are just pretending right?"
"Yeah. So, you should make some coffee for the parents when they get here at 10 tonight."
We got one voicemail from a parent saying that if her daughter was really invited to call her so she could get her dressed. But she seemed to be suspicious. Meanwhile we ate piles of icing from the jellyfish cake I made.
Friday Sunny's "grown-up friends" Megan and Doo Doo celebrated the big 6 at the very enticing and shiny Bob's Big Boy in Morro Bay. More presents. Including the most rock and roll outfit any 6-year-old has ever worn. When we get a computer of our own I'll load pictures of these lost months. Blog after blog of old photos. I know you are excited. And, no, I didn't make the Hello Kitty cake. I had Sunny pick out a photo of a cake to put on her birthday blog.
This morning at 7 AM we picked up Sunny's two closest school buddies to celebrate Sunny's birthday at the Santa Barbara Zoo for SNOW DAY. We met Sunny's library buddy Jeramy there just like
last year. All the kids went sledding and built snowpeople and threw snow around with their tongues out. They did a lot of squealing and laughing.
Things got a little busy behind me while I was writing this so I got less detailed and cannot bring myself to finish now. But, there, there is a new post about something we did recently.
Sigh. [I guess I'll take a break for anxiety now.]
